Dr. Rothschild provides consultation for families who are navigating the special education process as well as consultation for school staff in managing the psychological and learning needs of students.
The special education process can be overwhelming, emotional, and confusing for families. Dr. Rothschild has extensive experience in assisting families as they navigate the special education process from identification and referral to eligibility and development of individualized education programs (IEPs). Dr. Rothschild provides assistance with the following:
Helping families determine if their child may need special education services or 504 plan accommodations.
Navigating the special education process.
Interpreting evaluation reports, eligibility decisions, and IEPs.
Assisting families in advocating for their child's individual needs.
Attending school meetings.
Dr. Rothschild provides consultation for school staff in managing the psychological and learning needs of students.
Psychoeducation on various topics (e.g., neurodiversity, mental health diagnoses, neuroscience and the brain-body connection, relationship-based behavior management strategies).
Consultation regarding individual student needs.
Assistance with creating visual supports for individual students.
